Design Brief
Describe your vision for the perfect logo design
Design Brief
- Prior to kicking off the project, you’ll fill out the Logo Package Design Brief. The brief is a simple questionnaire designed to gather requirements and pertinent data for your logo project.
- Information from the Design Brief will help determine which designer on the team is the best fit for your project.
-
Research & Prep
The designer reviews the brief and does their homework
Research & Prep
- In preparation for the kickoff meeting, the assigned designer will review the Logo Package Design Brief you have filled out, prepare questions, gather design inspiration, and/or begin research for the project.
-
Kickoff Meeting
Meet with your designer to kick off the project
Kickoff Meeting
- Once your designer has concluded research and preparation, they will reach out to schedule a kickoff meeting (typically a screenshare/conference call).
- Discussion may involve pros and cons of current branding/identity, vision for new identity, review of color palette and fonts, timeline for the project, notes from the Design Brief, etc.
- The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Design Brief and provide the designer with insight and design direction so that they can begin work on concepts.
-
Concepts
The designer gets creative and brings your vision to life
Concepts
- Following the kickoff meeting, your designer will get started on the creation of logo concepts.
- Concepts will be provided in the form of graphic mockups that can be reviewed internally by your team (All logo concepts are created in Adobe Illustrator and provided in PDF format for review).
-
Feedback & Revisions
The designer fine tunes, refines and perfects the chosen concept
Feedback & Revisions
- Once concepts have been provided, the designer will look to you to provide feedback, thoughts, and questions about the concepts.
- Revisions and adjustments to concepts will be made as needed until you are 100% happy with the final logo concept.
-
Design Sign Off
The logo concept has been finalized and approved
Design Sign Off
- Once a logo concept has been finalized, your designer will provide a Design Sign Off document.
- This document needs to be signed by the primary project contact/sponsor and returned to the designer.
- Signing this document indicates that you are happy with the final logo concept(s) and no further changes will be made.
-
File Handoff
File formats for both web and print are provided
File Handoff
- Once the Design Sign Off document has been signed and returned, your designer will send you a packaged .zip file containing various file formats of your new logo including AI, EPS, JPG, PNG and PDF.
- You will also be provided with a Logo & Brand Guide that lists colors and fonts used in the logo design.
-
Project Closure
The project has concluded and you have everything you need!
Project Closure
- You now have all the file formats and information you need to start using your logo for web, print and communication materials.
- Please keep your logo files stored in a safe location. Though we do our best to retain all project files, Blackboard cannot guarantee that all files will be stored indefinitely.
